Your Name // Tiong Bahru Bakery

Hello!! Today was super fun and it was my virgin experience at cafe food ♡ With no further ado, let's get into it!! Tried to vlog so will try to insert the video here if I manage to settle it hehe. Ki super sporting HAHHAH. I swear the videos are so annoying sobs. Downloaded so many different movie maker programmes that doesn't work in the end ugh. Sorry please make do with the poor video, of me trying to film the movie on my lappy using my phone ;__; I even brought out my camera to vlog man fml this sucks lol. First and last time vlogging liao I swear lol.

Apparently my body clock has not yet recovered so guess who woke up at 5.45am after 4+ hours of sleep gosh.. (prolly the reason behind my persistent headache the entire day...) Tried to sleep in more but gave up and watched an episode of k-drama to pass the time instead HAHA slightly underestimated the time as I last minute decided to do full on make-up lol. Foundation, concealer brows and eyeliner only la though haha. Ki woke up late also hahah but luckily her mum offered to send us to Tiong wew

mehehehh
We watched Your Name, an anime movie. Guys, it's super good omg. The graphics, the story plot omg I had my hand over my heart throughout the later part 😭😭 I don't wanna spoil anything so please try to catch it before it's down from the theatres for the best experience of the graphics HAHAA

Ki's stomach was growling halfway through the movie hahah so we tried to find our way to Tiong Bahru Bakery for lunch quickly lmao although we took one big round.

We kinda expected it to be more olden looking(?) 'cause of the logo hahah but the cafe interior still looks really nice though!! Mostly wooden look to it in a warm lit room. We were at a loss of what to order to say the least. Can't blame us, we're totally new to this AAHAHH We decided to get 1 main and 1 dessert each.
Bad attempt at flat lay hah

 First of all, I need to say this was super filling HAAHHA 'cause we 2 lil greedy pigs 🐷🐷 hahah the crumble was super huge and although we shared everything, we still had such a hard time finishing 😡 Okay anywaysss

// Mains //

Mushroom and Brie Croissant Sandwich -$8.50
Molasses Bun with Pulled Pork and Coleslaw - $9
 I chose the croissant stuffed with mushrooms, onions I think, brie (a type of cheese) and rocket leaves while ki chose the burger which had pulled pork, rocket leaves and purple coleslaw sandwiched between 2 buns. Between the 2 mains, we unanimously agreed that the croissant was the tastier one. Both are good but like the croissant right, was so flaky and the mushrooms and brie tasted so well together!! I tried the mushrooms and brie separately initially and wasn't too impressed. But holy smokes, combining them together was a harmony of flavours! Together it tasted kinda sweet and tangy which was so good omg I swear hahahha. The pulled pork was pretty flavourful too but I found the entire thing a bit dry? So yep, 2 votes to croissant!!! πŸ‘…πŸ‘…(Anyways I heard that TBB is quite reknowned for their croissants)

// Desserts //

Lime and Basil Tart - $6.50
Chocolate and Banana Crumble - $6.80
 We were both in a dilemma over what to get for desserts omg. We were conflicted among the tarts, crumbles and eclairs ohmy. I eventually decided on the Lime and Basil Tart and ki on the Chocolate Banana Crumble. Our votes are split for this component though HAHHA 'cause I personally like citrusy berry related sweets so the tangy cream/custard thingy suited my taste buds a lot hehe. I think the tartness was really refreshing although ki found the basil taste a bit overwhelming. Ki prefered the more decadent chocolate banana crumble which I found the banana and chocolate to be too heavy for me πŸ˜• Omg the crumble was so big hahah really struggled to finish. Please share that with like 3 or more people thanks lmao. Really wanna go back to try their Berries Tart though, really looked damn good 😍😍
damn my face HHAHA but love ki's expression hehe

After the super filling lunch, we went to stroll around Tiong Bahru estate (we really just anyhow walk AHHAHAHA got dead end then turn around lmao until we realised we got back to the same place), walking by cafes, chatting and walked around Tiong Bahru Plaza's basement . Really love TB, it's where I grew up hehe. Love Tiong Bahru Market's food, please try their chicken rice kays HAHAHA

After which, we took the train down to Orchard to explore town. From Wheelock's Place, walked to Ngee Ann City to 313 Somerset. So paiseh to walk into those branded shops to look around 'cause we obviously won't buy anything hahah We walked so much hahah but had to burn off dem cals from lunch man dayum sinful ahaha but oh so good. I could totally understand why people love cafe food now. Sian if only my wallet and health could afford it HAHAH

We finally sat down as we are headed home on bus 190. Damn it's tiring hahah. It has been so long since I'm able to go out and not worry about going home to study and what not sigh :') Freedom is awesome huehue. Thanks ki for pei-ing me out today and wew for being so sporting at vlogging HAHAHA pleasantly surprised πŸ™„πŸ˜

Sorry for the amateur attempts at blogging but well I'm trying hahah. Hope you enjoyed reading! Bye!!
PS: thanks ki for doing my watermarks 😘
