Couzzies outing

Yep, like I mentioned in my previous post, went out with the cousins today, so here's another post up!! πŸ‘…

Supposed to meet up at 1230pm at Somerset but guess who was late for half an hour :( 190 took like 10mins to arrive and then there was a traffic jam at Orchard Road there sigh. Soz girls!! Headed to Lenas for lunch 'cause there's a 1-for-1 main course promotion!!! HOHOHO

Had wanted to go for the Beef Lasagna but it was a premium item and will need to top-up $5 so meh! Ordered 2 pasta dishes and 2 chicken dishes that we shared around!

Cream Mushroom and Bacon Spaghetti
Carbonara with Bacon
These two cream-based pastas tasted relatively similar actually in my opinion just that the sauce for the former may be slightly more watery while the latter is more thick :0 Can't really decide which I like more to be honest haha no feels for pasta today. More of chicken hue (so you can guess which I ate more of today hahah)

Breaded Chicken with Mozzarella Cheese and Criss-cross Fries
Grilled Chicken with Mozzarella Cheese and Coleslaw
The latter chicken dish was my 2nd option besides lasagna! It was real juicy and tender but I wished that the mozzarella slices were more melted so that they'll stick on to the chicken more. I like my choice of coleslaw side as it tasted slightly fruity or tart (?), reminds me of the coleslaw I had from Manhattan Fish Market that has raisins in it. But for the same reason, Nic didn't like it HAHAH. The coleslaw serving was super generous omg, took up like a quarter of the plate leh sia!!! Dipped the chicken into the nacho cheese sauce which went surprisingly well together!! I could taste the cheese when dipped with chicken but when dipped with the criss-cross fries, the cheese taste was unexpectedly overpowered by the fries, causing the cheese to taste diluted and bland. Oh, the fries were amazing!!! It was well-flavoured (isit umami???) and of the perfect texture, not too crispy nor too mushy yumz!!! Hence, the fries are better eaten on their own, just leave the cheese sauce to the chicken. I'm not too sure but when I tried the breaded chicken, there seemed to be tomato sauce layer between the crust and the chicken :o Quite nice actually, the sourness of the tomato sauce gives a nice contrast to the fried chicken!

4 dishes that amounted to less than $40!!! Each of us only paid $9 sia hue, damn worth haha, really filling and there were still a bit left from each plate. We sat there for damn long sia haahahh eating and talking (most of the time spent on talking AHAHHAAH)

After the hearty lunch, we walked and shopped around while chatting more hahha. Walked from Orchard Central Point to Abercombie and Fitch (first time going there :0 everywhere is so dark lol) then The Heerens Robinsons.

On the way to Takashimaya, we each bought old-school ice-cream from the streetside ice-cream uncle!! Childhood snack man but sian $1.20 now, used to be $1 :( Ting and Sercheng each got a Chocolate ice-cream with the colourful bread, Nic got the Napoloean ice-cream with peanuts(?) cone while I got the Raspberry ice-cream sandwiched between 2 biscuits.

My usual go-to flavour was Choc Mint but craved for fruit based ice-cream so yep!! Gobbled them down while we walked through the food basement at Taka and walked to Wisma Atria then Wheelocks Place.

Went into Superga and helped Sercheng to see which colour fits her better. Spent quite a while there but alas, as her feet size is like 37.5 so like the shoe sizes didn't really fit well so we gave up hahah #halfsizeprobs I'm a 36.5 too sian hah Popped in and out of more shops finding jackets and also went into Sephora to find bronzer. Ended up not buying anything though HAHAHAHA unproductive for the 2 sisters hahah.

Went for dinner afterwards at Watami, a Japanese restaurant that looked rather atas from the front. Waited for our queue number to be flashed which took quite some time.

Waiting for our turn
A bit of the interior
waiting for the foodz

Sercheng was advising that should go there to eat the hot stone rice pots which are the most worth 'cause the other dishes are just rather overpriced hahah. (oh she say the unagi roll was real good, like the unagi melts in the mouth kind hahah) Ordered 2 hot stone rice pots to share.

Pork Rice in stone pot - $12.90  nett
This was daebak!!! The pork slices are like those sukiyaki kinds topped with a yolk, spring onions and seaweed. We were saying that they prolly put too little sauce so it was a bit harder to mix but we still managed to mix everything up thoroughly. Every spoonful was super flavourful 😍😍 Slightly salty and sauce coated rice with the tender pork slices omg nomz πŸ˜‹

Salmon stone pot rice - $13.90 nett
This was less awesome to be honest. After cooking the salmon, it was a bit to the dry side, and similarly to previously the sauce was too little and was still rather dry and not all the rice was coated. Added a bit of soy sauce over it and also tried with mayo! Preferred with the soy sauce hahaha

See that little bowl of orange things? They're fish roes I think? It's super nice!!! Like little balls of jelly that bursts and releases the 'juice' it held inside. 😍 First time eating it sia hahaha oh and it tasted slightly salty! Definitely recommend the pork slices stone pot! These 2 amounted to $31.50 after GST and service charge, thus each of us paid only $7.50!

We are a bit pathetic ah πŸ˜‚ ate from the little saucer that were used to put extra spring onions and the fish roes HAHA

After dinner, we parted and went home! T'was a good day huehue, the previous time we met was to catch a movie and eat dinner in June hols I think. Should do this more often hahah but just sit down and talk 'cause we can talk about totally anything under the sun hahah.

Okie that's all for today!!! BYE πŸ’•

Outing with Makan Kakis

Sup!! Time for another post hue!!

Another item checked off the food bucket as we made our way down to Strictly Pancakes!!! πŸ˜‹ Hehe Mer and I had been wanting to try one of their dishes since before A's and we finally got to try!! We met at Dhoby Ghaut and walked to Prinsep Street. The shop is pretty easy to spot la once you got to the right street.
see what I mean? HAHHA

I was a bit taken aback when I stepped into the shop to be honest. It was a rather small space and I had expected it to be well, bigger hahha. Didn't take photos of the interior so I shall try to describe in words. Once you step through the door, there is a counter for payment and behind, there are a only few tables for customers to dine inside (not to worry, there are more tables outside the shop), and a small working area where the staff make the pancakes I think (?) and lastly a kitchen at the back where they prep other food I believe. I only saw 3 staffs there today and one cute guy among them hehhe OKAY BACK TO THE FOOD.

love Sarah's face here HAHAHHA
I think they changed how their menu looked as it was different from what I saw online from previous reviews haha. The menu pages a bit crumpled ah πŸ˜… hahah. Mer and I didn't need to look through the menu as we already had our eyes set on the Garlic Buttered Prawns  πŸ˜ from the Savoury section. The rest of them took a while but eventually went with the selections from the Sweet section.

Shall give a brief guide through their menu. Strictly Pancakes' menu includes The Stacks, Savoury, Sweet and Others.

The Stacks is basically a DIY pancake selection whereby you get to choose the number of pancakes you want; namely Short (2), Medium (3) or Large (4) along with maple syrup, your choice of butter from salted, unsalted, rum and raisin or garlic and herb and sides of $2.50 each.

Savoury includes pancakes alongside with mostly meats like beef, bacon, chicken, prawns and other savoury food items like cheese, eggs etc. Comes along with a choice of butter!

Sweet is well basically a dessert section HAHA but who says you can't have dessert for lunch πŸ˜‰

Others has like side dishes, sandwiches, finger foods and drinks basically.

Some of the savoury pancakes are able to downsize from Medium to Short stack with a deduction of $1 while all of the sweet pancakes are able to be downsized so read properly!! Short is sufficiently filling but well if you're a guy or someone with a large appetite or you're absolutely hungry or you're a pancake fanatic then go ahead with Medium hhaah. Ohya prices are subjected to 10% service charge and 7% GST okay! Oh and take note, the food will take some time, took about maybe 20mins for us I think? Okay let's start the food gallery!!

Garlic Buttered Prawns (short) - $16 nett
2 soft and fluffy pancakes covered in garlic butter sauce topped with fresh and succulent prawns and accompanied with a side salad of lettuce and tomato slices possibly drizzled with lemon juice? Really like the fluffiness and softness of the pancakes!! Quite love the sauce actually and kinda reminds me of carbonara sauce! Not super jelat like what I read online (prolly 'cause I only ordered 2 pancakes so easier to finish?) and the garlic taste was not overpowering. Found the sauce a bit too little though as it only lasted me 1 and 1/3 pancakes HAHAAH (maybe it's 'cause I tend to mop up quite a bit of sauce with every cut of pancake πŸ˜… since Mer's sauce last her both pancakes hah oops 😝 ) We took the unsalted butter and damn should have tried the Garlic Herb or Rum Raisin one haha.

Sarah's When Bacon Met Nutella (short) - $13 nett
Supposedly 2 thick pancakes stuffed with banana slices and Nutella, accompanied by a scoop of vanilla ice-cream, bacon strips and drizzled with maple syrup. Didn't try this but Sarah said that the Nutella was kinda pathetic. We expected it to be like molten Nutella actually, hoping it'll flow out when cut hahaha guess not.

Ced's What A Spread (Medium) - $14 nett
Supposedly peanut butter pancakes layered with Nutella in between, topped with 2 Kinder Buenos and a scoop of vanilla ice-cream in a pool of unknown cream-coloured sauce πŸ˜‚ Ced couldn't figure out what it was, guessing it might be white chocolate or something? Didn't try this either but he also said that the amount of Nutella was quite little.

HX's The Druggie (Medium) - $14 nett
Among the 3 Sweets dishes, HX's look the most aesthetic hahah. Supposedly chocolate pancakes topped with strawberries and accompanied by chocolate chips and chocolate ice-cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce. #chocooverload Had a bite from his and honestly the chocolate pancake doesn't have a very strong chocolate taste in my opinion :/ Not sure if it's good or bad 'cause there are extra chocolate sauce and chips and ice-cream along with it so maybe it's so that the whole dish doesn't taste overly sweet and jelat?

Not so aesthetic flat-lay
Overall, okay although the pancakes are nice and soft and fluffy but I don't think that it amazed me? Some of us were thinking that they looked better than it tasted hahah oh well.

After lunch, we walked down to The Mind Cafe which was just a few shops down. Had to wait 10mins outside though 'cause it only opens at 2pm. Oh saw Mr Chia walking past during that 10mins hahah so coincidental!! Sarah, HX and I went to TMC once before so this time we're back in full force! HAHAHAH
Near the entrance
Games of all sorts are piled on the shelves right at the entrance when you enter after you climb up a narrow stairs of flight. There is another room on the left from the entrance where there sofas around the tables where the 3 of us sat the previous time. Turning right from the entrance is what I'll call the 'common area' I guess (?) with more tables and chairs, also where the kitchen and toilet are at.

Today was rather packed though and was really noisy 😐 There were some promotions and set meals thingy going on but we were quite full from lunch so we just went for gaming which was $3/hr which is also subjected to 10% service charge and 7% GST (sian everywhere also got tax...) We played Monopoly for 1 hour, some barrel toy thingy that you slot in knives until the pirate gets flung out HAHAH, Scrabble and Ugly Doll in the remaining hour. Ugly doll still the best ahaa so violent but fun πŸ€—

Walked to Plaza Singapura afterwards and just randomly walked around Cold Storage and the Japanese mart. Had Naomi to help us take group photos before we parted huehue. T'was fun hahah, the next outing with them will be before the boys enlist  πŸ˜‚ good luck boys HAAHAHHA come out become botak men πŸ˜‰πŸ˜†

Our typical positions (e)
Went up to Daiso afterwards supposedly to help Mummy buy zip-lock bags but she decided against it in the end so went down to Bugis to meet her to buy some stuff from Bugis Street. Used to love going there during lower sec but now I'm just really sick of it lol even if I only go down once every few months 'cause everything is the same there omg, I legit get headaches... πŸ˜‘ Didn't shop for too long and finally headed home.

Wew so yep, that's the end of today's events, tomorrow gonna go out again HAHAH with cousins weee so there might be another post coming up tomorrow!! Okie bye!!!

Msia!!!

HAHAH HI yes this is a continuation from the previous post hue

Has been so long since Nic and I stayed over at Ting's house sia, maybe just for me la, has been like 1-2 years ler sobs.We stayed up and talk until like 230+ am then I concussed already HAHAH don't know what time they slept though.

Woke at 7am 'cause Nedrick came in and stepped on my leg sobs (the area above the ankle) thanks for the morning call Nedrick AHAHAH we were supposed to leave at 7am la I think but guess it didn't happen hahh. But we were all up and out soon and off to msia!!!

Was really hungry on the way there and just nice as we entered into msia, erjiu drove into the petrol kiosk to refuel and so we went into the convenience store to buy this Sambal Ikan Bilis Bun by Gardenia to share.

Grabbed from Google
Okay I know it sounds weird but omg, trust me, it's really really nice!!! The bun was so soft and the sambal taste was oomph!! πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹ I love spicy la so to me it was super awesome.😍😍 Thanks to Nic for introducing hue! And sian it's only exclusive to msia :(

We had brekkie at the Bak Kut Teh shop that our extended family always go to for bkt. Msia's bkt really different from SG's!! It's much nicer omg. They cooked the bkt using traditional methods over the charcoal and the soup was heavenly 😍😍 To me it almost tasted kinda sweet 'cause of the herbal taste (?) and is not peppery like the bkt in SG (in which some was so overly peppery that I really don't like bleargh) It has been very long since I eaten at that place so now I know why Sercheng only drinks the bkt from msia and nowhere else HAHAAH We had the salty veg, youtiao, some taupok, bkt soup with bak kut and enoki and pig's liver, as well as sesame oil (?? or isit soy sauce) chicken.

Both the bak kut and chicken was rather tender which was yumz!! The sauce for the chicken was very nice and would be great over rice man. (I didn't have rice la though, not used to eating actual meals for brekkie) Oh! And I finally tried dipping my youtiao into the bkt soup πŸ˜… Yes I know that's what I was supposed to do all along but I only realised that a few months back 'cause the concept of dipping bread stuff into clear soup a bit weird to me hahah I only dip into those creamy western soup. Anyways, IT'S AWESOME HAHAHA Gonna always dip my youtiao into bkt soup now.

After brekkie, we headed to Centre Point Mall (?? can't really remember haha) to look at winter wear from Uniqlo and also check out Sephora and Laneige shop at Kuan Tar (??? sorry still bad at remembering shopping mall names). Guys, remember the super chio BB cushion I mentioned before? Yep, I bought it there!!! (e) It's cheaper at 110 Ringgit aka SGD 35; cheaper than SG by $4 hue!! Thought for very long over whether to buy not but decided to just buy since it's cheaper and limited edition leh! #happygirl98

SO GORGEOUS RIGHT πŸ’•
Even the plastic bag they gave also chio omg
After which we headed to KSL mainly for me to dye my hair HAHAAH yes my main purpose of going into msia was to dye my hair πŸ˜‰ 'cause cheaper!! heheh. Initially wanted to dye red highlights but the hairstylist recommended another colour which was what I had wanted as a kid la so went with that instead.

The entire thing took me 3hours but luckily got wifi so I could watch my drama hehe. I was so hungry though :(( The others went to walk around and had lunch but oh well, for beauty, sacrifaces are okay AHAHA they bought back a sandwich for me la though and fruit tarts. The sandwich had 1 triangle slice of ham, 1 triangle slice of cheese and egg mayo. It's only 2 slices of bread la but you know after cut into triangle got 3 empty spaces? Yep that's where the fillings are. LOL why am I explaining this πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚ It wasn't very nice la but I was famished so suibian HAHHA The fruit tarts though on the other hand was ah-may-zing~ It's those mini version tarts with thin layer of chocolate on the interior base, then with a dollop of possibly whipped cream and 4 cubed fruits! The fruits are fresh and kinda sweet nomz πŸ˜‹ BUT THE HIGHLIGHT WAS THE CRUST NOMZ DAMN NICE I had 2 hehe.

Anyways, enough dragging on, here's the colour I eventually went for!

PURPLE!! AHHAH. Supposed to be highlights ah but er I don't know HHHAH. I bleached the bottom part once and then dyed a purple colour. The dye smelled so nice!! Has a berry smell so my hair smells like berries now eheh. I wanted purple as a kid 'cause I watched a hongkong drama and this ahlian had purple highlights which looked so cool and I wanted to be cool too so hehe. Super in love with my hair ahahah. #happygirl98

Cut-bleach-dye-treatment all for 278 Ringgit aka SGD 90 wew so cheap HHAHA. First experience of dyeing my hair at a salon and having my hair washed (the feeling so itchy HAHAH when the water touches my scalp my upper right back will tense up from a itchy feeling. Am I the only one?) He went to curl my hair up afterwards though :(( He placed the hairdryer directly on the hair walao my hair will spoil la sia and I dislike curled hair :(( Preferred straight hair so throughout the day I was trying to comb it out to become straight haha.

Drove out to another shopping mall again and went to the supermarket and Popular. Had Jap food for dinz as requested by Nedrick haha. Went Kinsahi (?) I think and wow the place look so atas lol. I just had lunch at like 430-5pm so I wasn't exactly hungry but just ordered some food.

I ordered a smoked duck maki roll I think. The duck was not bad, quite tender. Ohya cleared the small bowl of complimentary salad with Nic. Don't know what's in it leh actually, has like mayo, wasabi, tofu or avocado and what looks like carrot cubes but too soft to be carrot I feel. It's good though but the wasabi taste was too subtle for me so I added more wasabi to my share. Love that small punch of the wasabi from the creaminess of the salad. Also shared half a cup of Chawanmushi and a plate of pickled guava slices (which was really refreshing) with Nic. Had 2 thick slices of salmon sashimi also 😍 Dayum, it's soo good πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹ Nedrick had a plate of cold soba and 2 huge scoops of potato salad HAAHHA amazed at his appetite. Not really sure what else the others ordered hahah.

After dinner, it's time to head back to SG.

So yep, Sunday was Funday hehe. Okie, see yall again!! Bye!!

Ignite @ NYP

Hello! πŸ™‚ Went for my friends' concert on Sat but didn't get a chance to blog about it until now! So yep!

Met up with Ster first since Del and Tong are gonna be late aahaha. Been soooo long since I saw Tong and the others 'cause of A's πŸ™ (cept Ster HAAHAH) We went to Lot's NTUC and Value Shop to buy like snacks to gift Pua and Jo as snack packs HAHA didn't know Lot now has a Value Shop omg (everything; YES EVERYTHING; for $1 only sia wth we just grab grab grab hahahah bought like a box of Matcha Pocky and Cookie 'n' Creme Pocky to share. Got 2 stalks of roses for them as well. We were supposed to reach NYP at 730 so we just suibian grabbed some food for dinz. Passed by this Japanese bakery stall outside NTUC which sells so tempting breads so bought one for my dinz. Got this Curry and Cheese bread for $2 that's rather big. Disappointed leh sia :(( The curry fillings to bread ratio very little and the bread itself kinda dry sobs but bobian sigh.

Program booklet and ticket
Bumped into Zakiah there and asked her to sit with us since she went alone. The stage was rather small I realised and omg the data connection sucks inside the theatre :(( Struggled to post up Snapchat videos.

Throughout the entire concert I was amazed at how Jo and Yongxian improved so much since the last time I've watched them dance πŸ‘ I feel so proud of them omg There were guest performers of D3, Dance Art and NYP Dance Company. D3's item was so good!!! Like there was acting involved in the first half of the item, and Yongxian acted so well HAHAH We were in awe of his improvement (and his jawline HAHAHAH)

A few of my faves include Mr Chia's item Unleash , the super sexy dance Femme Forte (I think) that Pua was in (WEW PUA YOU KILLED IT HAHAHA DAMN SEKSI), Boundaries and Wildest Dreams that both Pua and Jo are in.

So proud of Pua, she has to go through so much shits for this production, all those stress and worry and all, really really proud that she pulled through and the production went relatively smoothly πŸ’•

After the concert, we were waiting outside for them to come out so we snacked on the Pockys (damn I was hungry). Yet again, I'm disappointed at food hahah. The matcha flavour was so subtle and I'd prefer to have a stronger taste :c The Cookies 'n' Creme for some reason has very little cookie bits on it ._. I remembered it to have more leh hmm. Also catched up with Mr Peter while waiting lmao his dyed bob hair πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Greatly admire this man; he's humble, hardworking, strict to get things done and yet humorous off-work hahah he taught us so much as a person and I've always been ever so glad to be able to train under him in KMDC πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜Š Still my fave instructor of all-time hahha.

FINALLY THEY CAME OUT and then came group hugs and water works HAHAHA Pua still had to run all over the place though to settle stuffs sigh But we didn't forget to have photoshoot time huehue.

trying to parody Pua's pose HAHAH

We just shamelessly stayed inside the holding room to take photos and wait for Pua and Jo 'cause the lights outside the theatre was switched off. Wasn't able to leave with them though in the end 'cause I had to rush off to meet my uncle and cousins πŸ˜” So left with Tong at like 1045pm to take the train. Had fun that day catching up and watching the concert that made me missed Rapture slightly :( Can't wait to meet up again soon with Tong and Jacy joining us huehue.

Had planned to go out for supper after the concert actually but I realised it clashed with my other plans (I just agreed to all plans without actually checking got clash not haahh, after A's just excited to go out play hahah πŸ˜… ) Supposed to go Ting's house to stayover for the night 'cause we'll be heading to msia on Sun morn!! WEW Okay that's for the next post la hor hahha
