Sup!! Time for another post hue!!
Another item checked off the food bucket as we made our way down to
Strictly Pancakes!!! π Hehe Mer and I had been wanting to try one of their dishes since before A's and we finally got to try!! We met at
Dhoby Ghaut and walked to
Prinsep Street. The shop is pretty easy to spot la once you got to the right street.

see what I mean? HAHHA |
I was a bit taken aback when I stepped into the shop to be honest. It was a rather small space and I had expected it to be well, bigger hahha. Didn't take photos of the interior so I shall try to describe in words. Once you step through the door, there is a counter for payment and behind, there are a only few tables for customers to dine inside (not to worry, there are more tables outside the shop), and a small working area where the staff make the pancakes I think (?) and lastly a kitchen at the back where they prep other food I believe. I only saw 3 staffs there today and one cute guy among them hehhe OKAY BACK TO THE FOOD.

love Sarah's face here HAHAHHA |
I think they changed how their menu looked as it was different from what I saw online from previous reviews haha. The menu pages a bit crumpled ah π
hahah. Mer and I didn't need to look through the menu as we already had our eyes set on the Garlic Buttered Prawns π from the Savoury section. The rest of them took a while but eventually went with the selections from the Sweet section.
Shall give a brief guide through their menu. Strictly Pancakes' menu includes The Stacks, Savoury, Sweet and Others.
The Stacks is basically a DIY pancake selection whereby you get to choose the number of pancakes you want; namely Short (2), Medium (3) or Large (4) along with maple syrup, your choice of butter from salted, unsalted, rum and raisin or garlic and herb and sides of $2.50 each.
Savoury includes pancakes alongside with mostly meats like beef, bacon, chicken, prawns and other savoury food items like cheese, eggs etc. Comes along with a choice of butter!
Sweet is well basically a dessert section HAHA but who says you can't have dessert for lunch π
Others has like side dishes, sandwiches, finger foods and drinks basically.
Some of the savoury pancakes are able to downsize from Medium to Short stack with a deduction of $1 while all of the sweet pancakes are able to be downsized so read properly!! Short is sufficiently filling but well if you're a guy or someone with a large appetite or you're absolutely hungry or you're a pancake fanatic then go ahead with Medium hhaah. Ohya prices are subjected to 10% service charge and 7% GST okay! Oh and take note, the food will take some time, took about maybe 20mins for us I think? Okay let's start the food gallery!!

Garlic Buttered Prawns (short) - $16 nett |
2 soft and fluffy pancakes covered in garlic butter sauce topped with fresh and succulent prawns and accompanied with a side salad of lettuce and tomato slices possibly drizzled with lemon juice? Really like the fluffiness and softness of the pancakes!! Quite love the sauce actually and kinda reminds me of carbonara sauce! Not super jelat like what I read online (prolly 'cause I only ordered 2 pancakes so easier to finish?) and the garlic taste was not overpowering. Found the sauce a bit too little though as it only lasted me 1 and 1/3 pancakes HAHAAH (maybe it's 'cause I tend to mop up quite a bit of sauce with every cut of pancake π
since Mer's sauce last her both pancakes hah oops π ) We took the unsalted butter and damn should have tried the
Garlic Herb or
Rum Raisin one haha.
|
Sarah's When Bacon Met Nutella (short) - $13 nett |
Supposedly 2 thick pancakes stuffed with banana slices and
Nutella, accompanied by a scoop of vanilla ice-cream, bacon strips and drizzled with maple syrup. Didn't try this but Sarah said that the
Nutella was kinda pathetic. We expected it to be like molten
Nutella actually, hoping it'll flow out when cut hahaha guess not.
|
Ced's What A Spread (Medium) - $14 nett |
Supposedly peanut butter pancakes layered with
Nutella in between, topped with 2
Kinder Buenos and a scoop of vanilla ice-cream in a pool of unknown cream-coloured sauce π Ced couldn't figure out what it was, guessing it might be white chocolate or something? Didn't try this either but he also said that the amount of
Nutella was quite little.
|
HX's The Druggie (Medium) - $14 nett |
Among the 3
Sweets dishes, HX's look the most aesthetic hahah. Supposedly chocolate pancakes topped with strawberries and accompanied by chocolate chips and chocolate ice-cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce. #chocooverload Had a bite from his and honestly the chocolate pancake doesn't have a very strong chocolate taste in my opinion :/ Not sure if it's good or bad 'cause there are extra chocolate sauce and chips and ice-cream along with it so maybe it's so that the whole dish doesn't taste overly sweet and jelat?
|
Not so aesthetic flat-lay |
Overall, okay although the pancakes are nice and soft and fluffy but I don't think that it amazed me? Some of us were thinking that they looked better than it tasted hahah oh well.
After lunch, we walked down to
The Mind Cafe which was just a few shops down. Had to wait 10mins outside though 'cause it only opens at 2pm. Oh saw Mr Chia walking past during that 10mins hahah so coincidental!! Sarah, HX and I went to
TMC once before so this time we're back in full force! HAHAHAH

Near the entrance |
Games of all sorts are piled on the shelves right at the entrance when you enter after you climb up a narrow stairs of flight. There is another room on the left from the entrance where there sofas around the tables where the 3 of us sat the previous time. Turning right from the entrance is what I'll call the 'common area' I guess (?) with more tables and chairs, also where the kitchen and toilet are at.
Today was rather packed though and was really noisy π There were some promotions and set meals thingy going on but we were quite full from lunch so we just went for gaming which was $3/hr which is also subjected to 10% service charge and 7% GST (sian everywhere also got tax...) We played
Monopoly for 1 hour, some barrel toy thingy that you slot in knives until the pirate gets flung out HAHAH,
Scrabble and
Ugly Doll in the remaining hour.
Ugly doll still the best ahaa so violent but fun π€
Walked to
Plaza Singapura afterwards and just randomly walked around
Cold Storage and the Japanese mart. Had Naomi to help us take group photos before we parted huehue. T'was fun hahah, the next outing with them will be before the boys enlist π good luck boys HAAHAHHA come out become botak men ππ

Our typical positions (e) |
Went up to
Daiso afterwards supposedly to help Mummy buy zip-lock bags but she decided against it in the end so went down to
Bugis to meet her to buy some stuff from
Bugis Street. Used to love going there during lower sec but now I'm just really sick of it lol even if I only go down once every few months 'cause everything is the same there omg, I legit get headaches... π Didn't shop for too long and finally headed home.
Wew so yep, that's the end of today's events, tomorrow gonna go out again HAHAH with cousins weee so there might be another post coming up tomorrow!! Okie bye!!!
