Couzzies outing

Yep, like I mentioned in my previous post, went out with the cousins today, so here's another post up!! πŸ‘…

Supposed to meet up at 1230pm at Somerset but guess who was late for half an hour :( 190 took like 10mins to arrive and then there was a traffic jam at Orchard Road there sigh. Soz girls!! Headed to Lenas for lunch 'cause there's a 1-for-1 main course promotion!!! HOHOHO

Had wanted to go for the Beef Lasagna but it was a premium item and will need to top-up $5 so meh! Ordered 2 pasta dishes and 2 chicken dishes that we shared around!

Cream Mushroom and Bacon Spaghetti
Carbonara with Bacon
These two cream-based pastas tasted relatively similar actually in my opinion just that the sauce for the former may be slightly more watery while the latter is more thick :0 Can't really decide which I like more to be honest haha no feels for pasta today. More of chicken hue (so you can guess which I ate more of today hahah)

Breaded Chicken with Mozzarella Cheese and Criss-cross Fries
Grilled Chicken with Mozzarella Cheese and Coleslaw
The latter chicken dish was my 2nd option besides lasagna! It was real juicy and tender but I wished that the mozzarella slices were more melted so that they'll stick on to the chicken more. I like my choice of coleslaw side as it tasted slightly fruity or tart (?), reminds me of the coleslaw I had from Manhattan Fish Market that has raisins in it. But for the same reason, Nic didn't like it HAHAH. The coleslaw serving was super generous omg, took up like a quarter of the plate leh sia!!! Dipped the chicken into the nacho cheese sauce which went surprisingly well together!! I could taste the cheese when dipped with chicken but when dipped with the criss-cross fries, the cheese taste was unexpectedly overpowered by the fries, causing the cheese to taste diluted and bland. Oh, the fries were amazing!!! It was well-flavoured (isit umami???) and of the perfect texture, not too crispy nor too mushy yumz!!! Hence, the fries are better eaten on their own, just leave the cheese sauce to the chicken. I'm not too sure but when I tried the breaded chicken, there seemed to be tomato sauce layer between the crust and the chicken :o Quite nice actually, the sourness of the tomato sauce gives a nice contrast to the fried chicken!

4 dishes that amounted to less than $40!!! Each of us only paid $9 sia hue, damn worth haha, really filling and there were still a bit left from each plate. We sat there for damn long sia haahahh eating and talking (most of the time spent on talking AHAHHAAH)

After the hearty lunch, we walked and shopped around while chatting more hahha. Walked from Orchard Central Point to Abercombie and Fitch (first time going there :0 everywhere is so dark lol) then The Heerens Robinsons.

On the way to Takashimaya, we each bought old-school ice-cream from the streetside ice-cream uncle!! Childhood snack man but sian $1.20 now, used to be $1 :( Ting and Sercheng each got a Chocolate ice-cream with the colourful bread, Nic got the Napoloean ice-cream with peanuts(?) cone while I got the Raspberry ice-cream sandwiched between 2 biscuits.

My usual go-to flavour was Choc Mint but craved for fruit based ice-cream so yep!! Gobbled them down while we walked through the food basement at Taka and walked to Wisma Atria then Wheelocks Place.

Went into Superga and helped Sercheng to see which colour fits her better. Spent quite a while there but alas, as her feet size is like 37.5 so like the shoe sizes didn't really fit well so we gave up hahah #halfsizeprobs I'm a 36.5 too sian hah Popped in and out of more shops finding jackets and also went into Sephora to find bronzer. Ended up not buying anything though HAHAHAHA unproductive for the 2 sisters hahah.

Went for dinner afterwards at Watami, a Japanese restaurant that looked rather atas from the front. Waited for our queue number to be flashed which took quite some time.

Waiting for our turn
A bit of the interior
waiting for the foodz

Sercheng was advising that should go there to eat the hot stone rice pots which are the most worth 'cause the other dishes are just rather overpriced hahah. (oh she say the unagi roll was real good, like the unagi melts in the mouth kind hahah) Ordered 2 hot stone rice pots to share.

Pork Rice in stone pot - $12.90  nett
This was daebak!!! The pork slices are like those sukiyaki kinds topped with a yolk, spring onions and seaweed. We were saying that they prolly put too little sauce so it was a bit harder to mix but we still managed to mix everything up thoroughly. Every spoonful was super flavourful 😍😍 Slightly salty and sauce coated rice with the tender pork slices omg nomz πŸ˜‹

Salmon stone pot rice - $13.90 nett
This was less awesome to be honest. After cooking the salmon, it was a bit to the dry side, and similarly to previously the sauce was too little and was still rather dry and not all the rice was coated. Added a bit of soy sauce over it and also tried with mayo! Preferred with the soy sauce hahaha

See that little bowl of orange things? They're fish roes I think? It's super nice!!! Like little balls of jelly that bursts and releases the 'juice' it held inside. 😍 First time eating it sia hahaha oh and it tasted slightly salty! Definitely recommend the pork slices stone pot! These 2 amounted to $31.50 after GST and service charge, thus each of us paid only $7.50!

We are a bit pathetic ah πŸ˜‚ ate from the little saucer that were used to put extra spring onions and the fish roes HAHA

After dinner, we parted and went home! T'was a good day huehue, the previous time we met was to catch a movie and eat dinner in June hols I think. Should do this more often hahah but just sit down and talk 'cause we can talk about totally anything under the sun hahah.

Okie that's all for today!!! BYE πŸ’•
