Well, hello again!! Yesterday was A Level's release of results day and it was a repeat of the day 2 years ago when it was instead the O Level's release of results; day of heart thumping, anxiousness and worry. But before reporting to school, I met my mum for lunch at Soup Spoon at Plaza Singapura and so I wanna blog about it hahaa.
We both ordered the Pot Pie set which was what I had always wanted to try! At $11.50, we got to choose a soup from the 3 Classic Soup choices (Roasted Pumpkin/ Tangy Tomato with Basil/ Meatless Minestrone) topped with a pie puff accompanied by a side salad and a choice of beverage from their home brewed Iced Teas (Lemon/ Hibiscus/ sugar free Sakura Sencha) or bottled water. Alternatively, you can top up $1.50 or $1.80 to choose from their Premium Soups or Souper Inspirations respectively.
I went along with tomato soup while mum chose the pumpkin soup and we both got their Iced Lemon Tea.
Firstly, let me say that this set is kinda aesthetically pleasing hahha to me la. The soup is ladled into the small cauldron bowl which has a lion head at each side and covered with the perfectly puffed up pie crust (mum's less puffed up haha #xiaolucky) and that small lil salad at the side hahhha #xiaoelegant
Tangy Tomato with Basil is always my go-to soup 'cause it's spicy and well tangy (duh) so I won't feel jelat finishing the bowl. It may be too spicy for some though but perfect for me ah 'cause well, I practically eat chilli, on its own hahha. #cantlivewithoutspicy #spicyislife and omg I saw their Soulful Vegan Chili soup/ stew from their Souper Inspirations which looked tempting!!! The bowl was choked with ingredients man!! To be honest, I was surprised when I realise that chili was not just the sauce/condiment I had been exposed to all my life but is also a soup/ stew which has like beans and many other ingredients inside!!
I've tried the Roasted Pumpkin before and I quite liked it 'cause it's slightly thick and has sufficient pumpkin flavour! It has some roasted almond silvers sprinkled on which gives the soup some contrast! Mummy thinks it gets slightly jelat for her though.
The pie puff is flaky in a good way and reminds me of roti prata dipping into curry when I dipped into my soup (since it's also spicy and orange HAHAH) but a healthier version (?? I hope?? #selfdelusion) It's very nice!! Mummy loved it heheh.
The salad has lettuce, arugula and some raisins as well as a dressing at the side. The dressing is slightly sweet and tangy which we quite liked!!
Their Iced Lemon Tea may be slightly on the bland side but I think it's fine for me!! Saw a cup of purple pink drink and thought it looked quite interesting :o I wonder if it's the hibiscus or sakura one, would like to try it next time!
Mummy rated the set a 4/5 anchors (I like anchors, so just let me be unique HAAHHA) and thinks it's worth the price. The classic soups themselves are $6.50 on their own so basically it's a top-up of $5 for the pie, salad and drink. Okay maybe it's worth it but sigh wallet will die HAHAHA. I too, might rate it 4/5 anchors as I really enjoyed my meal and am very full from it.
Headed to school afterwards and it was pouring outside lol, suited the mood of the day well. It was extremely nerve-wrecking having to collect our results after the talks and Principal's speech, fearing of failing GP and Economics which were my 2 super weak subjects. Heck, I've been failing Econs since J1... Although I'd say that my results slip may not be what a JC kid should be aiming for, at least I didn't fail Econs and GP and got what I wanted for my other subjects so I guess I'm kinda satisfied and grateful :)
Really happy for my friends who did extremely well 'cause they've worked hard for it!! But also have some friends who didn't fare as well :( Bad at comforting people but I won't say "it's ok" to them 'cause I definitely don't want to hear that if it was me. But I believe that there can be other routes to take and doors to be opened, reaching the same destination just albeit later, hoping they'll stay strong and push on :)) Relieved and proud to see some of them having a positive outlook or decided on another plan to follow afterwards. I'll be there to provide support if they need as that's what I learnt from the JC experience; that having friends and support is extremely important to push through the extremely physically, psychologically and emotionally tiring 1.5 years journey. Heck, it has been traumatic lol.
Okay now I need to like research on universities and do up applications and what courses I want and stuff ohmytian MEEP SO LOST okie bye!!!
