The Boneless Kitchen

Annyeonghaseyo!!! Here's another post from another food outing with Alyssa!! πŸ‘… Hehe, this time we went for korean cuisine!! Vegetarian style! Apparently The Boneless Kitchen is the first meatless korean place I think? from their poster.

It's a bit out of the way though like we alighted at Tai Seng MRT and had to walk through the back alley of some building as a shortcut I think to find the place.

Well, their interior layout is pretty straightforward I would say, as in like you can view the entire restaurant upon stepping in. However, something interesting is that they have 2 ways of seating arrangement:

You can choose to sit at the usual table and chairs;

what you'll see upon stepping through the door
Or opt for the traditional way of sitting on the floor!! It's only a small area of space of the restaurant set aside for this style though!! There are steamboat cooker thingies on the 3 larger tables while the 2 smaller ones don't have!

when you look to your left
I, wanting to experience the traditional way of korean eating, suggested to sit on the floor HAHAHAA The small tables feel slightly too small for comfort though in my opinion :// and be prepared to experience leg numbness or cramps HHHHAAH

Ambiance: relatively quiet (?) with kpop music playing in the playground but it's rather soft :o Good thing I guess, loud music would disrupt my meal HAHAHAH

okie here's their menu!!

[menu pics are taken from their website]

OHYA THEIR PRICES ARE ALL NETT HEHE SHIOK and you're supposed to go to the counter to order and pay so yup!

I ordered the Soondubu Jjigae which came with a bowl of purple rice and Alyssa ordered Dolsot Bibimbap!!We also ordered a plate of Tteobokki to share πŸ‘…πŸ‘…πŸ‘…

OMG THEIR TTEOBOKKI IS NOMZ Their rice cakes are although thick but of good chewy texture and the sauce is addictiveeee, the accompanying cucumber shreds and seaweed flakes provide good juicy crunch also heheh daebak 😍😍

My tofu stew has like enoki mushrooms, shitake mushroom, rounded tofu, cuboid fried tofu, kimchi, seaweed, cut chilli and egg. The spiciness is pretty shiok and very tummy-warming hehe but hor, I think I can never turn vegetarian hahhah 'cause halfway through the meal, I missed the meat taste. I think the stew missing the 'meat flavour' you know hahah

Omg can I complain about the free banchan (side dishes) :( We're only given 2, slightly pickled korean beansprouts and kimchi braised peanuts. I was expecting more? :( AND WHERE DEM KIMCHI OMG CRIES I wanna quickly go Korea and eat like their gazillion amount of banchan LOL

Although the food are quite good and all, I think it might be on the higher price end? :/ Like I don't think my tofo stew is worth $12.90 to be honest ahahh and the rice cakes although daebak but it's slightly expensive of $5.90 for the portion I feel? But I think the bibimbap should be quite affordable at $9.90 Oh well once in a while never mind ba hahah

Might be back to try out their other dishes!!! Like Jajangmyeon 😍😍 okie till next time~
